Metro Detroit Weekend Family Field Trip

Lately my weekend ritual has been to find as many fun things to do here in Metro Detroit as I can possibly shove into 2.5 days. This weekend we ate at PF Chang’s on Friday night {amazing gluten free menu! Two desserts that were vegan as well as gluten free?!} we decided to go to the one at Somerset Collection. So fancy!

I love Eileen Fischer so of course we went there first. I ooh-ed ahh-ed over all the lovely natural fabrics in gorgeous colors.

We had fun just walking around. The fountains and sculptures and little garden spaces are gorgeous. I feel like I’m outside in the sun when I walk around there. Definitely nice in the winter. I’m so ready for spring.

Love seeing all the vintage elements in kids clothes these days. Love this bathing cap, sunglasses and sandals combo. Sooo cute.

Saturday we hit up Rustbelt market and did 2 photoshoots. That was fun! They got awarded most super awesome shop ever in Ferndale for 2013 …and also most creative sign. Duh! That’s pretty much a no brainer.

Liesl has gorgeous scarves in a pretty dresser. You should go see her next weekend at Rustbelt. She’s ready to fit you into one of her super cool one of a kind dresses.

After that I headed over to the WAB for small craft! So fun. More pics tomorrow from there.

Sunday was gorgeous here. 62 degrees! We had brunch at Inn Season, like usual. I crave my gluten free and vegan omelet and chai tea all week til I can have it again each Sunday!
I drove with the sunroof open and my window down! It was delicious. I ran errands and got things done while Tiny spent the day with her grandparents. I really wanted to skip through Plum Market singing “Spring is coming, spring is coming…” But Tiny Girl wasn’t with me so I felt kinda weird. I love that being with her gives me all the right to do wonderfully silly things in public. What a wonderful weekend!!! Hope you enjoyed yours! Do you have a weekend ritual? Do you stay home or venture out into your community? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
